The Belize Credit Union League Limited (BCUL) sponsored a national payment system integration project for its wholly-owned subsidiary, Shared Services Network Limited (SSN). The project’s objective is for SSN to implement a payment transfer platform and integrate all participating credit unions into Belize’s National Payment System. In pursuance of this objective, SSN is implementing an account numbering standardization system for all credit unions participating in its payment transfer system. As a result, members of participating credit unions will have to adopt SSN’s Credit Union Account Number (CUAN). Therefore, BCUL will undertake a public awareness campaign to ensure that members are aware that they will be required to use CUAN to receive all electronic payments, such as payroll and government benefits.
